Polish progressive/alternative rock band SOUR BLOOD from Poznań have released their new single, ‘Constellations’, accompanied by an official music video. The track combines a narrative about finding the strength to keep moving forward in seemingly hopeless circumstances with a musical structure in constant motion.

Listen to ‘Constellations’

At the heart of the song is the idea of fate, choices, vivid memories, and the ability to keep moving forward after carrying the burdens accumulated along the way. SOUR BLOOD draws a parallel between the chaos of human life and the vastness of space, which appears calm and beautiful when viewed from afar.

One of the most notable aspects of ‘Constellations’ is that the band describes it as their most extensive genre-blending composition to date. Beginning with acoustic guitar arpeggios, the track moves through shifting tempos, heavy riffs, melodic vocals and an instrumental section, before making room for an old-school guitar solo with blues touches.

Within this constantly changing structure, the vocals bring the different sections of the track together into a cohesive whole. Alongside feelings of hopelessness and disappointment, the idea of a faint hope that remains amid all these burdens forms the song’s central narrative.

The official video for ‘Constellations’ was also released alongside the single. Mixing and mastering for the track were handled by Konrad Janiszewski, known for his work with HERESY DENIED and THE MATERIA.

SOUR BLOOD features Karol Chapko on vocals, Witold Brylewski on guitar, and Sergii Serdiuk on drums.
