Ukrainian heavy progressive rock outfit STONED JESUS have released their new single, “Under the Skin”, alongside an official music video for the track. With this new song, which signals the second chapter of the band's three-album conceptual journey that began last year, the group opens the door to one of the darkest and most introspective periods of its career.

Having drawn attention in recent years with releases that push the boundaries of doom, stoner rock, and progressive rock, STONED JESUS combine their trademark heavy riff-driven approach with a gloomier and more atmospheric direction on “Under the Skin”. While the track carries clear post-metal influences and echoes elements of the band's earlier work, it presents them through a more modern and bolder perspective.

According to statements from founder and frontman Igor Sydorenko, “Under the Skin” serves as the first step in a new creative phase that follows last year's critically acclaimed album, Songs to Sun. In this new chapter, STONED JESUS aim to focus on darker themes, deeper emotional layers, and a denser atmosphere.

The music video for the song was filmed during the band's recording sessions at Goblin Sound Studio in Cologne, Germany. Andy Rosczyk handled engineering duties, while mixing and mastering were completed by Karl Daniel Lidén in Sweden.

Having placed constant change and evolution at the core of its nearly 17-year career, STONED JESUS offer significant clues about the forthcoming album cycle with their latest single. “Under the Skin” stands out as a harbinger of a period in which the band is expanding not only its musical weight, but also its emotional depth.
