STREET TOMBS’ New Album “Existence Is Corruption” Now Streaming in Full Ahead of Release
Album Now Streaming
Santa Fe death metal band STREET TOMBS have made their second studio album, “Existence Is Corruption,” available to stream in full ahead of its official release. Set for release on August 21 via Carbonized Records, the album continues the band’s approach of combining their death metal roots with crust punk and early black metal influences.

“Existence Is Corruption” also reflects the band’s harsh narrative centered on modern society, corruption, complacency, and destruction. STREET TOMBS bring the heavy riffs of early death metal together with the d-beat rhythms of crust punk while placing greater emphasis on the Hellhammer, CELTIC FROST, BATHORY, and AMEBIX influences that form part of the band’s musical foundation.
Released ahead of the album, ‘Upset The Grave’ stands out as one of the clearest examples of this approach. Decibel Magazine described STREET TOMBS’ new single as a five-minute track from the band’s forthcoming second full-length built around sheer, straightforward aggression.
The foundation of STREET TOMBS’ current sound can be traced back to the band’s beginnings around The Cave in Santa Fe in 2017. After hosting shows for the local DIY punk and metal community, the band released three demos that combined the death metal weight of early Sepultura and BOLT THROWER with the d-beat/street punk attack of DISCHARGE and G.B.H. Their first full-length, “Reclusive Decay,” followed in 2023, after which the band embarked on a US tour with LEFT TO DIE.
The 2024 compilation “RIP The Abyss” brought together recordings the band had made during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following its release, STREET TOMBS hit the road across the US and Canada with NECROT.
Recording, mixing, and mastering for “Existence Is Corruption” were handled by Greg Wilkinson at Engine 70 Studios in Santa Fe and Earhammer Studio in Oakland. STREET TOMBS bassist Galen Baudhuin also contributed additional recording, while the album artwork was created by Shane Donaldson and the band logo by Ben Brodsky.
The album will be released on CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats. STREET TOMBS will also play a series of shows across the US in September following the album’s release.
The eight-track album features:
‘Pestilent Storm’
‘Deceptor’
‘Septic Values’
‘Upset The Grave’
‘Systematic Suffering’
‘Mental Mutilation’
‘Braindead’
‘Parasitic Feast’
“Existence Is Corruption” is currently streaming in full, with the album officially set for release via Carbonized Records on August 21.
