French black metal label Antiq will release TAUFPATIN’s debut album, "Les Malfaisances de la Taufpatin", internationally on October 7. The album centers on the revenge story of La Taufpatin, an evil witch figure associated with the folklore of Eastern France and Alsace.

Said to have originated in the 18th century, La Taufpatin is portrayed as a character who brewed horrific potions, cast spells, and targeted benevolent fairies and ordinary folk. Her deeds eventually provoked the people to rise against her, and she was ultimately burned at the stake. Yet she returns in the concept behind TAUFPATIN’s debut.

"Les Malfaisances de la Taufpatin" tells the story of La Taufpatin’s revenge plot against the benevolent fairies. According to the narrative, she decides to seek revenge after being left off the guest list for a fairy party. Armed with her broom and hat, La Taufpatin sets out to carry out her wicked scheme after devouring a whole pot of chocolate.

The first track from the album, 'L'Attente', has now been released. The song is available to stream via Antiq’s official YouTube channel.
