TE DEUM Announce New Album in the Shadow of War
Ukraine's shadows shape TE DEUM's return
Ukrainian doom/death metal band TE DEUM have released their first single, ‘Funeral Song’, ahead of their fourth full-length album, "Gates to the Unknown", due out internationally on November 20, 2026, via Moon Records. Shaped by the ongoing war and devastation in Ukraine, the album explores themes of death and what lies beyond.
Formed in Kyiv in 1995, TE DEUM established themselves in Ukraine’s underground scene with a sound that combines doom and death metal with dark melodies, atmospheric keyboards, and intense vocals. Heavy guitar tones and somber melodies remain central to the band’s latest work, reflecting the sense of despair brought on by the world around them.
"Gates to the Unknown" follows "Reflexia", released on November 22, 2022, after a lengthy hiatus. TE DEUM’s debut full-length, "Бездна" ("The Abyss"), arrived in 1999, followed by their second album, "Тлеющий мир" ("Smoldering World"), in 2002. Despite lineup changes and periods of inactivity, the band have maintained their doom/death metal identity throughout a career spanning more than three decades.
Comprising nine tracks, "Gates to the Unknown" will be released internationally via Moon Records on November 20.
