Swedish black metal outfit Teratum have unveiled their second single, "Total Void," ahead of the release of their debut mini-album, Ordnance of Spiritual Warfare. Set for release on August 21 via Dying Victims Productions, the record will mark the band's first widely distributed recording.

Formed from the ashes of Beastiality following that band's dissolution in 2024, Teratum first announced their arrival with a two-track promotional demo released last year. Now, the band is preparing to cement its place in the black metal scene with its four-song debut mini-album. The newly released "Total Void" once again showcases the group's dark and aggressive identity.

While Teratum's sound carries traces of its members' past, the band is not simply aiming to continue where its predecessor left off. Blending the ferocity of black and thrash metal with an ancient atmosphere, the quartet seeks to forge its own identity through dense riffs, dark melodies, and songwriting that shifts between varying tempos. The result is an approach that is likely to appeal to listeners devoted to the classic European black/thrash tradition.

The tracklist for Ordnance of Spiritual Warfare, which consists of four songs with a total running time of approximately 21 minutes, is as follows:

  1. Dead in the Marshes

  2. Leviathan Rise

  3. Total Void

  4. Metropolis of Death

Previously released single "Leviathan Rise" and the newly unveiled "Total Void" continue to build anticipation for Teratum's debut release while highlighting the band's ambition to reinterpret classic black/thrash metal through a contemporary lens.
