Rising Australian technical death metal outfit THE ABSOLUTION SEQUENCE have released the video clip for their new single “Idols of Confraternity” ahead of their upcoming debut full-length, Dread Cycle. With the album’s release drawing near, the band once again showcases its dark atmosphere and aggressively technical approach through the newly unveiled track.

Vocalist Shawn Wells states that the song is centered around society’s obsessive devotion to public figures. Through its lyrics, the band sharply criticizes the blind idolization of celebrities, political figures, and religious leaders, taking aim at modern culture’s increasingly unquestioning worship mentality.

Having already drawn attention across underground circles with a series of EPs and standalone singles, THE ABSOLUTION SEQUENCE are now aiming to deliver the most ambitious work of their career with Dread Cycle. Production duties for the album were handled by Chris Themelco, while mastering was entrusted to one of extreme metal’s most renowned names, Jens Bogren.

Set for release on August 14, the album consists of nine tracks that fuse the chaotic intensity of technical death metal with immersive atmospheric layers. Hailing from Tasmania, the band has previously shared the stage with major acts such as Nile, Archspire, and Thy Art Is Murder, further cementing their growing reputation.

Drawing inspiration from Tasmania’s cold and isolated atmosphere, the band appears fully committed to carving out a distinctive identity within the modern technical death metal scene.
