Texas-based war metal band TRENCH WARFARE have released 'Follow the Circling Vultures', the latest track from their second studio album, "Achtung! Destroy The Weak". Released as the album's second single, the song combines the band's war- and death-centered narrative with a story drawn from vocalist Jay H. Gorania's personal experiences.

According to Gorania, 'Follow the Circling Vultures' tells the story of a warrior tracking down a wounded enemy soldier in the wilderness with the intention of killing him. Sleep-deprived and exhausted, the character remains driven by a desire to protect his family, his people, and his nation. The hatred directed toward the enemy is likewise presented as being directly tied to this defensive instinct.

The idea for the song took shape when Gorania saw vultures flying over the Mojave Desert during a vacation in Nevada. Watching the birds circle above the red rock formations of Valley of Fire before descending led the vocalist to imagine the story of a warrior pursuing a wounded enemy. Gorania connects this scenario to his own family's struggle to support his father during his illness, noting that the lyrics developed as a stream of consciousness shaped by those thoughts.

'Follow the Circling Vultures' also offers a glimpse into the heavier and more aggressive direction TRENCH WARFARE have taken on their new album. Across its eight tracks, "Achtung! Destroy The Weak" retains the band's war metal roots while bringing the influence of classic death metal acts such as MORBID ANGEL and DISMEMBER further to the forefront. The band's appreciation for DEIPHAGO, DIOCLETIAN, GENOCIDE SHRINES, TETRAGRAMMACIDE, WARGRINDER, RITUAL GENOCIDE, OBEISANCE, and SATANIK GOAT RITUAL also informs the album's musical palette.

The album was recorded at Come And Track It Studios in Austin, Texas, by John Petri and Justin McClenny, and mixed in Florida by Jarrett Pritchard. Jay H. Gorania handles vocals, while Tony Goyang Jr. and Dustin Putz contribute guitars. Jake Holmes plays bass, with drums recorded by Ronnie Parmer, also known for his work with MALEVOLENT CREATION.

Following the recording sessions, founding member Tony Goyang Jr. parted ways with TRENCH WARFARE. The band are currently operating as a three-piece, with Gorania and Putz joined by drummer JP Campo.

TRENCH WARFARE's second album, "Achtung! Destroy The Weak", is due out August 28 via Conjuring Records. Alongside 'Follow the Circling Vultures', the tracklist features 'Dissenter', 'Might is Right', 'Embrace the Flames', 'Gluttonous Feast of Perversion', 'Fight and Die for the Bloodline', 'You Will Bow to the King', and 'Achtung! Destroy The Weak'.

TRENCH WARFARE plan to remain active on the road throughout 2026 and 2027 in support of the new album. The band recently shared the stage with IMPRECATION in Austin and have also performed at festivals in Chicago, Denver, and New Jersey.
