Norwegian black metal band URARV have released ‘Operation Genocide’, the second track unveiled from their third studio album, “Nychta Psychis”. Due for international release on October 16 via Darkness Shall Rise Productions, the album continues the band’s experimental and unconventional approach to black metal while placing a striking historical theme at its center.

‘Operation Genocide’ addresses the destruction born of human greed and the wars that inevitably follow. The track also focuses on the horrors of the 1890 Wounded Knee massacre and pays tribute to the memory of Crazy Horse. Founded by Aldrahn in 2003, URARV have released a relatively small body of work to date. The band’s vocalist Aldrahn is known for his work with prominent Norwegian black metal acts such as THORNS, DØDHEIMSGARD, and ZYKLON-B.

“Nychta Psychis” sees URARV retain a black metal foundation while pursuing an experimental approach to songwriting. Alongside its black metal-based structures, the album incorporates elements that fall outside the genre’s traditional boundaries, while Aldrahn’s varied vocal techniques are brought to the forefront throughout the record.

‘Operation Genocide’ is the second track to be unveiled from the album. A video for the previously released track ‘Dødheimsgard’ has also been made available. The video can likewise be found via Darkness Shall Rise Productions’ official YouTube channel.
