VOID Guitarist Gabriel Lejeune Sets Release Date for Solo Album “Pyramids”
What is VOID guitarist hiding on his solo debut?
Louisiana-based VOID guitarist and songwriter Gabriel Lejeune has set October 30 as the release date for his debut solo album, “Pyramids”. Released through Shadow Kingdom Records on CD and vinyl, the album puts Lejeune’s guitar-driven approach front and center through an instrumental work without vocals.
While VOID’s music, following last year’s “Forbidden Morals” on Shadow Kingdom Records, has shown clear influences from tech-thrash acts such as Forbidden, Toxik, and Annihilator, “Pyramids” offers a vocal-free, guitar-centered take on that lineage. Rather than simply revisiting those influences, Lejeune expands the palette on his solo work with a broader emotional and textural range.
The album is built around intricate compositions shaped by frequent tempo changes and dynamic shifts. Lejeune’s lead guitar work stands as its central element, while the absence of vocals does little to diminish the expressive power of the songs.
Lejeune’s solo effort draws on the shred metal aesthetic that took shape in the late 1980s and early 1990s, while presenting that approach through a more modern and expansive musical palette.
Alongside the album announcement, “Infinite Horizons” has also been released. The track is available to stream through Shadow Kingdom Records’ Bandcamp page, where “Pyramids” can also be pre-ordered.
