VULGAR MEPHITIS SIGN WITH WILLOWTIP RECORDS: “FROM DUST” COMING
Debut Album “From Dust” Announced
Pittsburgh-based brutal death metal band Vulgar Mephitis has drawn attention by signing with Willowtip Records, one of the key labels in extreme metal. The quartet will release their first full-length album From Dust on September 11.
The new album marks the band's first full-length following their self-titled EP released in 2022. From Dust is described as pushing the boundaries of brutal death metal with its chaotic structure, sudden tempo shifts, and sharp riff transitions.
The first single from the album, “Martyr,” has been released on digital platforms and offers a strong preview of the band’s more aggressive sonic approach in this new era.
Guitarist Dan Martin notes that their songwriting approach has expanded in the new period, and that the addition of drummer Nick Bentzel and himself to the lineup in particular has brought a more layered approach to song structures. In their early days, the band pursued a more direct and linear brutal death metal approach; with the new material, they aim to establish a more complex and dynamic compositional language.
From Dust will be released on CD, vinyl, and digital formats. The release process is being handled under the Willowtip Records banner, with pre-orders now available.
