Hailing from Spain, WHISPER are preparing to bring together their 2023 self-titled debut EP and the subsequent "Liminal Spaces" EP as a single collection. Titled "Whisper / Liminal Spaces", the release will be issued by Dying Victims Productions on CD and vinyl on November 20.

One of the collection’s highlights is WHISPER’s new track 'Pathways'. Premiered today by Deaf Forever, the 8:26 song continues the band’s progressive and traditional metal foundations within a broader, more atmospheric musical setting.

WHISPER’s story began in 2022, when drummer José Vicente Aldeguer started recording some ideas for a potential new project. With connections to Iron Curtain, Phantom Spell, War Dogs, and Chantrice, Aldeguer completed three songs and a cover before releasing the project’s first EP digitally in 2023. The release received positive reactions from both Spanish and international metal media.

WHISPER played their first live show in January 2024, where they also performed a new song from the then-unreleased "Liminal Spaces" EP. Following Dying Victims Productions’ interest in these early recordings, the two EPs were revisited, with five original tracks in total being remixed and remastered for the new collection, which runs for approximately 40 minutes.

Progressive metal and traditional metal form the foundation of WHISPER’s musical world. Influences ranging from Diamond Head and Iron Maiden to Blue Öyster Cult and Asia, and from Demon and Mercyful Fate to Opeth and Hällas, take on a distinct character through cleaner-toned melodies and the use of vintage synths. This approach gives the band’s extended song structures and technical instrumental performances a more atmospheric footing.

Closing the collection is 'The Whisper', a track from WHISPER’s early period. Running for nearly 13 minutes, the song stands as the clearest expression of the band’s long-form songwriting approach while also connecting the two distinct EP eras within "Whisper / Liminal Spaces".
