YOTH IRIA Unleash New Video For “Harut, Government, Fallen”
One of the longstanding names of the Greek black metal scene, YOTH IRIA have shared a new music video created for their recently released third full-length album, Gone With The Devil. Shot for the track “Harut, Government, Fallen,” the video once again places the band’s occult atmosphere and dark aesthetic at the forefront.
Bassist and lyricist Jim Mutilator stated that the track is not merely a musical work, but something shaped as an extension of personal spiritual experiences and a meditative approach. According to Mutilator, the song is built around the ideas of individual transformation and inner liberation. Throughout the new album, the band appears to have embraced a denser and more cinematic narrative style, particularly within a lyrical world woven from mystical themes.
While preserving the traditional Hellenic black metal character that stood out in the band’s previous works, Gone With The Devil draws attention with its broader atmospheric layers and melodic textures. Heavy-paced riff structures, dramatic guitar melodies, and arrangements carrying occasional folk influences reinforce the album’s dark framework. The more restrained use of blast beats is also cited as one of the elements enhancing the record’s dynamic impact.
Directly connected to the early ’90s Greek black metal wave, the band also carries the historical legacy of the scene largely through the presence of Jim Mutilator, known for his past with Rotting Christ and Varathron. By merging the classic spirit of Hellenic black metal with a modern production approach, YOTH IRIA have become one of the genre’s most compelling acts in recent years.
Having already received strong reactions from the metal press, Gone With The Devil is being regarded as one of the strongest releases in the band’s career thanks to its epic storytelling, gothic atmosphere, and memorable melodic construction.
