Northern California-based epic doom and black metal project AMAROK will return on September 25th with their new release "Overcome". Set to be released via Hypaethral Records, the double album features new interpretations of tracks from the band’s 2024 album "Resilience", reworked by various artists.

The new AMAROK release includes contributions from members of Vastum, Primitive Man, Mizmor, Gridfailure, and musicians from across the experimental metal scene. The band revisits the atmospheric and crushing nature of "Resilience" through different musical perspectives, presenting fresh takes on the album’s compositions.

Taking its name from the giant wolf figure in Inuit mythology, AMAROK combines the crushing weight of doom metal with the melodic structures and intense atmospheres of black metal. Throughout their career, the band has drawn attention with expansive compositions built around themes of nature, existence, and transformation.

Following the release of their self-titled debut album in 2011, which established the band within the funeral doom realm, AMAROK continued to strengthen its connections within the underground metal scene through various split releases. With the 2018 double-LP "Devoured", the band further developed its expansive and layered approach, while their 2024 album "Resilience" explored themes including climate catastrophe, loss, existential anxiety, and the struggle for survival.

"Overcome" emerges as a reinterpretation project serving as a companion piece to "Resilience". The double-CD release features contributions from artists including Ethan Lee McCarthy (Primitive Man), Leila Abdul-Rauf (Vastum), and Andrew Black (Mizmor / Hell).

Ahead of the album’s release, AMAROK has unveiled ‘Penance’, reworked by Leila Abdul-Rauf. Abdul-Rauf approaches the original composition from a new perspective, reshaping the track with vocal melodies, minimal synth textures, and additional atmospheric elements.

"Overcome" will be released on September 25th via Hypaethral Records in a limited-edition double-CD format as well as digitally.
