Astriferous Unveils Another Track Ahead of New Album
Costa Rican death metal outfit Astriferous have unveiled another new track from their highly anticipated second studio album, Atavistic Unraveling. Arriving shortly before the album’s release, “Dissolution of Eternity” offers listeners significant clues about the band’s new creative chapter.
Set for release on June 26 via Me Saco Un Ojo Records in vinyl format, Atavistic Unraveling marks the band’s first full-length album since their 2023 debut, Pulsations From the Black Orb. It has also been announced that the CD edition will be handled by Pulverised Records.
Astriferous further expands upon the dark and primitive death metal vision established on their debut album. Blending the bleak atmosphere of early Finnish death metal with the savage character of the South American scene, the band delivers a sharper performance and a more focused songwriting approach throughout the new material.
One of the album’s most notable aspects is the shift in production. Featuring a clearer sonic framework compared to previous releases, the recordings bring the band’s complex riffs and unsettling atmosphere into sharper focus without sacrificing the aggressive nature of the songs. It is said that Astriferous have this time achieved a more balanced convergence between technical proficiency and chaotic creativity.
Having previously released the track “Arcane Demonomania,” the band now opens another gateway into the album’s dark world with “Dissolution of Eternity.” Atavistic Unraveling is shaping up not only to represent a new stage in Astriferous’ career, but also to stand as one of the significant releases supporting the rise of Costa Rica’s increasingly noteworthy death metal scene.
