BEYOND OUR SIGHT Release First New Single in Six Years
A familiar cycle begins again
Belgian metalcore band BEYOND OUR SIGHT have broken a six-year silence with their new single, ‘Ouroboros’. Bringing together six musicians from Ghent and the surrounding area, the band are returning to music following their final show in 2020.
Named after the ancient symbol of a serpent devouring its own tail, ‘Ouroboros’ explores the destructive, recurring cycles that both humanity and individuals can become trapped in. Musically, the track reflects the band’s approach of combining melodic metalcore foundations with a contemporary sound.
BEYOND OUR SIGHT say they set out to bring together the melodic character of early 2000s metalcore with the heavier sound and production standards of today. The band explain their approach:
“We wanted to capture the nostalgic energy of early 2000s metalcore while injecting it with the heaviness and production standards of today. The contrast between the melodies and the crushing riffs in ‘Ouroboros’ reflects the constant cycle of creation and destruction.”
The single is available now on digital streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
Formed in and around Ghent, BEYOND OUR SIGHT played several shows, recorded an EP and released two music videos before the pandemic. Following a shift in priorities, the band played their final show in 2020. Six years later, the six friends have reunited and are now preparing to return to the stage with new music.
The current lineup features Michael on vocals, Hans, Michiel and Frédéric on guitars, PJ on bass and Mattias on drums.
