Last Cathedral Records released "The Last Farewell" on October 30, marking the fifth and final instalment in its compilation series for 2026. Featuring contributions from 20 bands, the release brings together various shades of doom metal, including traditional doom, epic doom, funeral doom, death/doom, sludge and stoner.

Beyond bringing different approaches to doom metal together on a single release, the compilation has another significant aspect: all proceeds from sales will be donated to nina+nico e.V., a non-profit organisation based in Germany. Located in Gummersbach, the organisation has been supporting people affected by sexual, psychological and physical violence for more than 30 years.

"The Last Farewell" features CONVICTION, ELUSIVE GOD, ANGEL OF DAMNATION, OMICRON CETI, TOMBGROWN, CARCOLH, CAVERN DEEP, RED MOON ARCHITECT, DEATH HAS SPOKEN, WOE UNTO ME, SPLENDIDULA, WOODEN VEINS, PROPHETS OF THWAITES, THIEVES OF FIRE, MIGHT, OBSERVERS, DOOMCULT, CADUCEUS, YORE and ABYSSAL LITURGY.

The compilation comprises 20 tracks. Among its longer offerings are WOE UNTO ME's 'Blood-Black Nothingness Stops Spinning', which runs for over 12 minutes, and ABYSSAL LITURGY's 'Endless and Formless'.
