DOCTOR NEZ Returns with New EP “Nothing Short of Silver”

Colorado-based stoner rock outfit DOCTOR NEZ is preparing to release its new EP “Nothing Short of Silver.” Set to arrive on October 1 in CD and digital formats, the release continues the band’s doom-infused heavy rock approach with six new tracks.
Led by multi-instrumentalist DOCTOR NEZ, the project combines riff-driven stoner rock with dark atmospheres and psychedelic touches. The new EP builds upon the band’s previous work while presenting a heavier and more concept-focused narrative.
“Nothing Short of Silver” serves as the opening chapter of a dark fantasy story centered around an individual transformed by the effects of a curse. Throughout the EP, themes such as the fear of change, guilt, unrequited love, the desire for power, and destructive impulses are explored.
The first single from the release, ‘Pale Full Moon,’ has already been unveiled, while the EP’s second single, ‘Find Familiar,’ will be released on August 14. DOCTOR NEZ describes the new material as a combination of aggressive rock and fantasy storytelling influenced by Dungeons & Dragons.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and currently based in Colorado, DOCTOR NEZ has carved out a distinctive place within the stoner doom scene with lyrics inspired by life’s darker moments, heavy guitar tones, and raw vocal delivery. The band’s sound will appeal to listeners drawn to acts such as Green Lung, Baroness, Red Fang, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, and Orange Goblin.

All songs were written, performed, recorded, and produced by DOCTOR NEZ. ‘Find Familiar’ was co-written with Luke Prentice. The EP artwork was created by Cosmic Flame Studio.
“Nothing Short of Silver” will be released on October 1. DOCTOR NEZ will also perform several shows across Colorado in support of the EP’s release. The band’s current lineup features DOCTOR NEZ (guitar, vocals), Luke Prentice (bass), and Brett Wutzke (drums).
