HAXPROCESS Saves Its Longest Journey For Last
US progressive death metal band HAXPROCESS are returning with a new studio album following their previous release. Due out on December 4, 2026, the album retains the Floridian death metal foundation the band has developed while taking a different structural approach through shorter songs and a closing track that exceeds 21 minutes.
Most of the tracks on the album run for around five minutes, making them considerably shorter than those on the previous release. This approach, however, stands in clear contrast to the album's closing track, which runs for more than 21 minutes. According to the source, the extended closer offers a different perspective on HAXPROCESS' musical approach.
The band's sound combines the dense, sludge-inflected character of Florida death metal with a progressive sensibility. Influences drawn from stylistically diverse death metal acts such as BLOOD INCANTATION, OPETH, and THE CHASM come together within the band's own musical identity. With melodic passages also playing an important role, this approach continues the character HAXPROCESS have developed with increasing definition across their previous albums.
Another notable aspect of the new release is the band's approach to extended compositions. While most of the album consists of more compact songs, the 21-minute composition at the end deliberately breaks with that shorter format. In doing so, the band maintains its established sound while opening up a broader musical space in the album's final stretch.
On the album, Lothar Mallea handles guitar, vocals, and songwriting, with Adam Robinson on drums and Davis Leader on bass. Shane Williamson contributes lead guitar on the fifth track. The album artwork was created by Adam Burke, known for his work with FELGRAVE.
