German post-metal band LAUDARE have unveiled ‘Fireflies’, the first single from their upcoming album “I Am the Wood I Burn to Warm My Bones”, due out on February 5, 2027, via Moment of Collapse Records. Offering an initial glimpse into an album shaped by themes of personal confrontation and self-discovery, the track explores the process of reconnecting with one's inner child.

‘Fireflies’ focuses on the journey of reconnecting with the child within. Bringing together melancholic soundscapes, emotional intensity and intricate musical arrangements, the track addresses the importance of allowing oneself to feel sadness without suppressing it, expressing anger without shame, and giving emotions the freedom to surface. LAUDARE approach these themes through vulnerability and self-acceptance.

The band's musical approach on the new album also embraces a distinctly eclectic direction. Drawing on post-rock, progressive rock, metal, folk and classical influences, LAUDARE combine three distinct vocal approaches with arrangements built around guitar, bass and cello. Their compositions move between delicate, restrained passages and expansive, intense sections, favouring an approach that moves beyond conventional song structures.

“I Am the Wood I Burn to Warm My Bones” explores the contradictions of being alive, the desire for emancipation, self-doubt and the search for meaning. At its core lies the idea that grief can become a source of healing and failure a necessary part of growth. The possibility of simultaneously nurturing and destroying one's own existence forms one of the central tensions explored in the album's title track.

The ten-track album was recorded and produced by Daniel Kaltofen. LAUDARE's lineup features Marie-Luise Thurm on vocals and bass, Almut Voigt on cello, piano and vocals, and Daniel Kaltofen on guitar, piano and vocals.
