Veterans of the German black metal scene, Nargaroth have made their long-awaited new album Apocalyptic Steel available ahead of its official release, allowing listeners to stream it in full as of today. The record, consisting of nine tracks, is now accessible online.

The result of an approximately 12-year creative journey, Apocalyptic Steel bears the signature of René “Ash” Wagner, the sole creative force behind Nargaroth. Spanning 39 minutes, the release is shaped by a raw and direct metal approach, drawing from the harsher strains of classic heavy metal and death metal to construct its uncompromising framework.

The album’s origins trace back to 2014. Recording sessions at Trident Studios in California at the time featured Mike Williams on guitar and bass duties, while Phil Cancilla handled drums. Running in parallel with material recorded for another project, the sessions were ultimately set aside on a hard drive for years. When the project resurfaced much later, the drums were re-recorded in Las Vegas, and vocal sessions were completed in 2025 at AMP Studios in Duisburg, Germany. The entire production bears the imprint of Jens Forster.

The album will be officially released on June 26 via Season of Mist: Underground Activists. On the same day, a special launch show will take place at the Matrix venue in Bochum, Germany. Nargaroth will perform two separate sets that evening, with the second dedicated entirely to a full live rendition of Apocalyptic Steel. Ancient Rites are confirmed as support. Doors open at 18:00, with the show starting at 19:30, alongside signing sessions, photo opportunities, and exclusive merchandise available throughout the night.

Apocalyptic Steel stands out as a striking new entry in Nargaroth’s discography, both for its prolonged gestation period and its unfiltered, uncompromising metal ethos.
