Brazilian death metal outfit NervoChaos are set to return with their new studio album Chaosmongers. Marking the band’s 14th full-length release, the record will be issued worldwide on September 11 via Black Lion Records. The Brazilian edition will be released through Tomba Productions.

Chaosmongers stands out as a release in which NervoChaos push even further into the outer limits of extreme metal. Comprised of 12 tracks, the album centers its dark conceptual framework around themes of chaos, transformation, occultism, and human resilience, constructing an intense atmosphere that invites the listener to form their own interpretation. The record also features a tribute to Brazilian hardcore punk legends Ratos de Porão.

In terms of sonic identity, NervoChaos retain their classic old-school death metal backbone while bringing thrash metal influences more sharply into focus. The riff work is direct, heavy, and stripped of unnecessary embellishment, highlighting the band’s increasingly refined songwriting approach. Without falling into nostalgia, the album merges an old-school spirit with a modern sense of aggression.

On the production side, the album was produced by Edu Lane, with recording handled by Adriano Daga at Estúdio Purosom in São Paulo. Mixing and mastering were completed by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman, while the artwork was created by acclaimed artist Niklas Sundin.

Chaosmongers reflects not only a musical expansion for NervoChaos, but also a broader conceptual ambition. The band frames chaos not as an end point, but as the beginning of transformation. Tracks such as “I Am Darkness,” “Embrace Chaos,” and “Beyond the Cosmic Ocean” each represent different facets of this dark journey.
