NIGHT GAUNT Announce New Album “Rupture”
Darkness takes new shape
Rome-based doom metal band NIGHT GAUNT have announced November 6, 2026 as the international release date for their third studio album, “Rupture.” Set for release on CD and vinyl through Aural Music, the album announcement is accompanied by a music video for the band’s new song, ‘Of Clouds and Gleam’.
“Rupture” sees NIGHT GAUNT reshaping their doom metal-centered approach with post-punk, dark folk, and industrial influences. Over several years of rewriting and rearranging the material, the band stripped down and rebuilt the songs, leaving behind only what they considered essential.
Formed in Rome in 2013, NIGHT GAUNT have gone through personal and artistic changes alongside years of performances across Italy and Europe. While “Rupture” represents the band’s new work after this period, doom metal remains the album’s foundation. Around that core, however, acoustic passages, folk melodies, post-punk influences, and industrial textures create a broader musical landscape.
Rather than functioning as a collection of independent pieces, the album’s songs are arranged as parts of a shared narrative. According to the band, “Rupture” takes a cohesive approach in which themes such as memory, absence, and emotional catharsis come to the fore, while silences, shifts in tempo, and contrasting textures serve the album’s overall flow.
The album’s opening track, ‘Of Clouds and Gleam’, has been released as the first indication of this new era. The song’s video has also been made available through the band’s official YouTube channel alongside the album announcement.
“Rupture” will be released on November 6, 2026 through Aural Music on CD and vinyl. Pre-orders for the album are now open. The album features 10 tracks:
‘Of Clouds and Gleam’
‘Strangers’
‘Struck by the Fever’
‘Ordeal’
