Canadian death metal and blackened crust band SACCAGE has announced November 20 as the international release date for its fourth studio album, “Chronophage”. The album will be released on CD via Caligari Records, while the vinyl edition is scheduled to arrive between December 2026 and early January 2027.

Alongside the album announcement, the band has also released a new track, ‘Terreur diurne’. The song is available through the Caligari Records Bandcamp page, where “Chronophage” is also available for preorder.

Formed in Québec City in the late 2000s, SACCAGE pushes its death metal and blackened crust approach further on “Chronophage”. D-beat passages, blast beats, and groove-driven structures are combined with the band's OSDM, grindcore, and dark crust influences, while the band is said to be aiming for a more cohesive musical whole than on its previous releases.

The album's lyrics take a nihilistic and satirical look at a dystopian, decaying world. The title “Chronophage” lies at the heart of the band's approach to the time-consuming existence it describes, with the album's musical and visual identity shaped around the same theme.

“Chronophage” was mixed and mastered by Cody Baresich, known for his work with Iskra and Hedonist. The album's main artwork was created by Brad Moore.
