Folk metal band SAGENBRINGER have released their new EP, “Sagendarium”, marking the first time in their career that they have moved beyond mythology and folk tales to explore J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth. The three-track release transforms three different stories from the worlds of “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” into musical narratives.

The project began with a single song the band wrote for the Tolkien Tage. That track quickly grew into a three-song EP. On “Sagendarium”, SAGENBRINGER turn to Bilbo Baggins’ 111th birthday with ‘Hundertundelfzigster Geburtstag’, the Rohirrim with ‘Reiter Rohans’, and the Haradrim with ‘Haradrim’.

The EP’s focus track, ‘Hundertundelfzigster Geburtstag’, centers on Bilbo’s famous birthday celebration in Tolkien’s story. Catchy melodies and driving rhythms take the lead, while the song’s narrative forms the most festive part of the three-part story collection through which SAGENBRINGER enter the atmosphere of the Shire and Hobbiton.

“Sagendarium” also stands as SAGENBRINGER’s new release following their third studio album, “Zwischen den Welten”, released in 2025. After completing their first headlining tour in support of that album, the band turned to a new collection of stories within the same year. This time, however, the source material is a literary and fantastical world, rather than the mythology and folk tales they have drawn on previously.

The EP has been released on 10-inch orange marbled vinyl and as a CD Digipak. As a special detail for vinyl collectors, the B-side features the EP title and SAGENBRINGER runes engraved directly into the record.

Following the release, SAGENBRINGER will join TANZWUT’s 2026 tour as a support act, beginning on October 16 in Frankfurt. The band’s run of German dates will conclude with a concert in Berlin on November 21.

SAGENBRINGER will also embark on a separate six-date German tour in 2027 under the title “Zwischen den Welten Epilog”. The tour will open in Lübeck on March 5, 2027, and conclude in Bamberg on March 20.
