Sněť Return to Dark Depths with New Album

Czech old-school death metal outfit Sněť are preparing to return with their new studio album “V bažinách vědomí”. The band has unveiled the first glimpse of their new era with a music video for the album’s first single, “Kladivo ve tmě”.
After making their mark on the underground death metal scene with their 2021 debut album, Sněť continued their output with two split releases in the following years. Their new record, “V bažinách vědomí”, stands out as a dark and punishing work that preserves the spirit of ’90s death metal while further defining the band’s own identity.
Serving as the album’s first taste, “Kladivo ve tmě” reflects Sněť’s musical world built around dense atmospheres, crushing rhythms, and aggressive guitar work. On their new release, the band aims to combine the rotten, menacing texture of classic death metal with a modern production approach, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and distinctly their own.
“V bažinách vědomí” is described as an album that showcases the band’s musical evolution, where dark atmospheres and crushing riffs collide. While maintaining the raw energy of death metal’s golden era, Sněť bring a stronger and more balanced approach through the details that shape their unique character. Throughout the record, savage transitions, memorable guitar melodies, and heavy groove-driven sections stand out.
Recorded at Golden Hive Studio by Amák Golden, the album was mixed and mastered by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios. The artwork was created by Řád Zdechlin (Tomáš Mitura), following the visual concept developed by the band’s guitarist and vocalist.
“V bažinách vědomí” will be released on September 10 via Me Saco Un Ojo Records (vinyl and cassette) and Dark Descent Records (CD and cassette).
