Swiss progressive metal band STEREOPHRENICS have released their debut studio album, "Paracosm 2.0", on digital platforms. Comprising eight tracks, the record brings together the band's musical approach, shaped by the space between progressive rock and heavy metal, with darker, more atmospheric elements.

Hailing from Geneva, the band have spent nearly a decade navigating the territory between progressive rock, heavy metal and an increasingly darker musical direction. The arrival of vocalist Elisa Colacioppo and bassist and backing vocalist Thijs Kos marked the beginning of a new chapter in STEREOPHRENICS' musical evolution. While this change has brought a heavier metal edge to their sound, it has also sharpened the contrast with the melancholic and atmospheric elements that define their music.

The conceptual world of "Paracosm 2.0" revolves around altered states of consciousness, imaginary worlds, inner escape and the increasingly blurred boundary between perception and reality. Previously released 'State of Paradox' explores the experience of consciousness trapped within an unresponsive body, while the album expands this idea into a dystopian exploration of the human psyche across eight tracks.

Progressive structures and heavy guitar riffs intertwine with gothic tension, atmospheric keyboards and symphonic textures. Contrasts between physical force and melancholy, control and disorientation, and a sense of confinement and imagined freedom lie at the heart of the band's musical approach.

Recorded with the current lineup, which also features Giovanni Tramparulo (guitar), Nicola Giandomenico (keyboards and samples) and Valentin Boada (drums), the album is STEREOPHRENICS' first full-length release following two independent EPs.

Recording, mixing and mastering for "Paracosm 2.0" were handled by Serge Moratel at REC Studio in Geneva. The band have been working with Greensunlight Productions since 2024.
