SUBMASQ Release New Single 'Sanctified'
SUBMASQ Faces Past
Israeli progressive metal and ethno-rock outfit SUBMASQ have unveiled 'Sanctified', the second single from their upcoming album, "Spirit Animal". The song's music video premiered via New Noise Magazine, while the single will become available across all digital platforms on August 7.
According to vocalist Davidavi "Vidi" Dolev, 'Sanctified' explores the regret of seeking forgiveness from someone who is no longer there to grant it. Filmed by the band themselves in the Judean Desert, the video aims to reflect the song's narrative through an authentic visual setting. Dolev also revealed that he dedicated the track to his grandmother, who passed away after battling Alzheimer's disease.
Set for release on September 18 via Willowtip, "Spirit Animal" is a nine-track album that approaches themes of trauma, addiction, bipolar disorder, and collective memory from a deeply personal perspective. Blending progressive rock and progressive metal with ethnic instrumentation, the album also features a guest appearance by Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.
The record also marks the beginning of SUBMASQ's partnership with Willowtip Records. Following the album's release, the band will embark on a European tour with RHAPSODY OF FIRE in January 2027, with additional international tour dates and festival appearances to be announced at a later date.
"Spirit Animal" will be released on September 18 on vinyl, CD, and digital formats.
