SZIVILIZS Announce Release Date for “Totätänzer” and Unveil First Track
The Renaissance takes a darker turn
Swiss black metal project SZIVILIZS will release its second full-length album, “Totätänzer”, on December 17 via Dominance of Darkness Records, available on CD and vinyl. The first track unveiled from the album, which takes the Renaissance as its central theme, is ‘Fründ Hain’.

Following their first demo in 2019, SZIVILIZS released three splits and an EP before issuing their debut album, “Grabsuchtslieder”, in 2022. For the new album, the project's main figure, SZIVILIZS, has joined forces with drummer Dyet.
“Totätänzer” connects its Renaissance-inspired themes with the cold, historical atmosphere of the Swiss Alps. SZIVILIZS brings together synth textures, repetitive guitar lines and emotive shrieked vocals with measured rhythms that are never entirely slow. Combining a raw sound with clearly defined melodic lines, the album translates the project's narrative of historical and romantic imagery into its musical framework.
The album's musical reference points include early ABIGOR, EMPEROR and BEHEMOTH, alongside LUSTRE, UNGFELL and DARKENHÖLD. SZIVILIZS brings these influences together in a distinctive approach that stands apart from modern black metal trends.
Released as the album's first preview, ‘Fründ Hain’ is available to stream on the official Dominance of Darkness Records YouTube channel. Accompanied by cover artwork created by Luciana Nedelea, “Totätänzer” features eight tracks.
