German melancholic heavy metal outfit THE NIGHT ETERNAL have unveiled their third single, 'The Veins Of Time', along with an accompanying music video, ahead of the August 21 release of their new album "Cold Velvet" via Metal Blade Records.

Opening the album's second half, 'The Veins Of Time' adds a new dimension to the band's musical identity. Beginning with an intro shaped by post-punk and goth influences, the track gradually unfolds by blending its heavy rock foundation with melancholic atmospheres. The song reaches its climax with a finale highlighted by Ricardo Baum's vocals and Robert Richter's guitar solo.

"Cold Velvet" will mark THE NIGHT ETERNAL's first release through Metal Blade Records. The album was recorded between May and December 2025 at Church Of Sound Studios near Munich, Germany. Production, recording, and mixing were handled by Michael Zech, known for his work with acts including Secrets Of The Moon, Sulphur Aeon, Triptykon, and The Ruins Of Beverast.

The band says that working with Michael Zech brought a different perspective to the recording process, particularly because of his background in the black metal and death metal scenes. His return to an '80s-inspired classic heavy metal approach after an extended period also introduced fresh ideas during the album's production.

Consisting of eight tracks, "Cold Velvet" will be released on August 21 on CD, digital platforms, and vinyl in a range of color variants.
