UK death/groove metal band VEIL PIERCER will release its debut EP, “This Will Not Be Painless...”, on October 6, 2026, via Prog On! Recordings. The five-track release will be available digitally as well as on LP and CD.

One of the more notable aspects of the band, which formed in June 2025, is that it entered the studio just seven months after its formation. VEIL PIERCER recorded the EP with Joe Clayton at No Studio in Manchester. Clayton also handled the release’s mixing and mastering.

“This Will Not Be Painless...” is built around a slower, heavier and groove-focused approach to extreme metal. The band operates along the death metal and groove metal axis, placing particular emphasis on weight, groove and direct impact.

The VEIL PIERCER lineup features musicians connected to Lifeswallower, Enochian Theory and Cult of the Skull. Craig Millington handles bass, Liam Drewe provides vocals, Matthew Sharp plays guitar and vocals, while Benedict Harris-Hayes is responsible for drums, sound design and vocals.

The EP’s five-track lineup consists of ‘Plague’, ‘Death Rattle’, ‘Void’, ‘Reign Of The Fallen’ and ‘When We Die’. CANNIBAL CORPSE, THE ABOMINABLE IRON SLOTH and MESHUGGAH are cited as reference points for the band’s musical direction.

“This Will Not Be Painless...” will be released on October 6.
