Colorado-based WAYFARER, blending black metal with Americana influences, have released their new single 'Perdition's Crossing'. The track marks the band's first new material since their 2023 album "American Gothic" and features guest vocals from David Eugene Edwards, known for his work with 16 HORSEPOWER and WOVENHAND.

'Perdition's Crossing' takes WAYFARER's dark Americana approach into a more cinematic and atmospheric direction. While maintaining the band's distinctive musical identity, the new track explores a more desolate and unfamiliar narrative landscape.

Several notable names contributed to the recording process. The production was handled by Ben Chisholm (CHELSEA WOLFE), with engineering by James Barone (BEACH HOUSE), mixing by Iver Sandoy (ENSLAVED), and mastering by Alan Douches (CONVERGE, etc.).

WAYFARER stated that their collaboration with David Eugene Edwards is connected to the Denver Sound influences that have shaped the band's past, while also representing a new starting point for the musical direction they are exploring in the future.

The music video accompanying the single was directed by Brendan McGowan, known for his work with bands such as TRIBULATION and IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT.

'Perdition's Crossing' serves as the first preview from WAYFARER's upcoming studio album "Riders Of The Setting Sun", which is scheduled for release via Vesperian in late 2026. The eight-track record is expected to see the band moving into new musical and emotional territory compared to their previous works.

The new single will also be released by Vesperian as a limited-edition 12" maxi-single. Pressed in only 300 copies worldwide, the special edition will include a foldout sleeve, lyrics, band notes, track commentary, and artwork created by graphic novelist Julian Brier. The release will feature the title track on Side A, while Side B will include a remix by Ben Chisholm and a field recording.
