Polish blackened melodic death metal band WINTERFORGE have released their new single ‘From Hell’s Heart’, inspired by Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick, today. The song is accompanied by a lyric video created in collaboration with Brazilian filmmaker Iandro Porto and Shaumbra ArtVisuals.

‘From Hell’s Heart’ centers on humanity’s helplessness in the face of nature, fate, and God; the struggle to comprehend the incomprehensible; and the darker sides of the human subconscious. Vocalist Aleksander Halicki explains that the song focuses particularly on Captain Ahab’s obsession with revenge. The track’s title itself refers to the feeling of vengeance consuming Ahab’s mind.

The song’s thematic framework is further shaped by the line “Hell is empty and all the devils are here” from Shakespeare’s Macbeth. WINTERFORGE connects the phrase not only to the situation faced by the characters in the novel, but also to the idea of humanity becoming the carrier of evil in the world.

Musically, WINTERFORGE combines elements of melodic death metal and black metal within a broad framework built around low-tuned guitar riffs, powerful vocals, dynamic rhythmic sections, and atmospheric melodies and harmonies. The guitars, bass, and synthesizers for the new single were recorded at Invictus Republic Studio in Warsaw, while the drums were tracked at Sunstorm Studio. Vocals were recorded at Heinrich House Studio.

HEINRICH also figures prominently in the production process. Vocal recordings took place at his studio, where he has worked with Behemoth and Hate, while Filip Hałucha handled the song’s mixing and mastering at the same studio.

Formed in 2018 as a studio project, WINTERFORGE released the singles Blakkness and In Nomine Bestiæ before issuing their debut full-length "Hiemal" in April 2024. The band subsequently evolved into a live act, sharing the stage with acts such as DEICIDE, DECAPITATED, and NON EST DEUS at events including Opoczno Strikes Again and Gothoom Open Air Fest.
