ABYSSIC Returns to the Dark Forests of Norwegian Folklore with “Trollsyn”
Forests Whisper Inwardly
Norwegian atmospheric folk doom band ABYSSIC have signed with Soulseller Records for their upcoming album, “Trollsyn”. Set for release in early 2027, the eight-track record will explore a more atmospheric narrative shaped by nature, Norwegian folklore, and the mystery of the forests.
ABYSSIC’s addition to the Soulseller Records roster marks one of the key developments in the band’s new era. In a statement regarding the deal, the band said they believe working with Soulseller Records is the step they need to take their music and the band itself to the next level.
One of the most notable elements setting “Trollsyn” apart from the band’s previous work is that all of its lyrics are in Norwegian. ABYSSIC describe the album’s thematic world as being rooted in Norwegian folklore and cultural heritage, with nature and the majestic mystery of the woods serving as sources of inspiration.
This approach suggests that the album will be built around a distinct atmosphere not only musically, but also on a narrative level. Across its eight tracks, the band aims to draw listeners into an eerie and deeply atmospheric world.
Recording for “Trollsyn” has already been completed. The album is scheduled for release via Soulseller Records in early 2027, with further details, including the exact release date, to be announced in due course.
