Philadelphia-based experimental death metal outfit Accursed Womb invites listeners into a filthy and unsettling sonic journey with their new compilation album Hymns of Blasphemous Fornication, which brings together their post-2022 recordings. Set for international release on CD on August 21st, the release presents the band’s evolution to date as a single cohesive body of work.

The album consists of a collection of EP and demo recordings released since 2022, spanning approximately 50 minutes in total. The compilation includes the Crown of Piss and Prison Coward EPs, along with promo recordings from 2023 and 2026. Its track sequencing conveys the band’s transformation through a non-linear flow, gradually pulling the listener into an increasingly dense state of chaos.

Accursed Womb’s music initially carried a more experimental, doom-driven foundation, but has steadily evolved into a more aggressive and crushing form of death metal. This compilation also makes visible the band’s current endpoint, particularly in their most recent recordings, where a more unified and powerful lineup comes into focus. Opening track “Invocation of the Necrovat” clearly establishes how this direction lays the groundwork for the band’s forthcoming debut album.

Within the band’s sonic universe, influences such as Incantation and Morbid Angel are audible, alongside echoes of Timeghoul and Blood Incantation, while at times a darker, more experimental blackened approach also emerges. Contributions from guest musician Mike Stevens further layer and intensify this density.

Now available for pre-order via Nespithe Records on Bandcamp, the album stands as both an archive and a manifesto ahead of the band’s upcoming studio album. Hymns of Blasphemous Fornication offers a disturbing preview of Accursed Womb’s future assault.
