German death metal band CARNAL GHOUL will release their second full-length album, “Feed the Vault”, on January 15, 2027, via Testimony Records. The album was recorded with the band’s new vocalist, Lennart “Lenny” Osterhus, who has now joined the lineup permanently. A music video for the first single, ‘Back to Decay’, has also been released.

Osterhus, also known as the vocalist of ENDSEEKER, explains that the lyrics of ‘Back to Decay’ explore the grim cycle of experiencing one’s own death over and over again. According to the musician, the track depicts a state in which memories, nightmares, and reality begin to blur together, leaving the individual struggling to find a way out.

“Feed the Vault” follows the band’s 2022 debut album, “Back from the Vault”. During the debut’s production, CARNAL GHOUL lost vocalist Sven Groß to cancer in 2021. The band eventually completed the album in his memory and released it a year later. Featuring guest vocal contributions from the likes of Dave Ingram, Martin van Drunen, Marc Grewe, and Paul Speckmann, the record marked a significant chapter for the band, which subsequently needed time to come to terms with its loss.

Osterhus’s permanent addition to the lineup is a key part of CARNAL GHOUL’s new chapter. On their upcoming album, the band aims to combine its old-school death metal approach with hard-hitting riffs, strong hooks, and melodic elements.

The band’s origins date back to a meeting between guitarist Daniel Jakobi and drummer Stefan “Husky” Hüskens at Party.San Metal Open Air. Their shared passion for old-school death metal, particularly the classic Swedish sound, eventually led to the release of the “The Grotesque Vault” 7-inch and MCD in 2013. With Fernando Hermansa and Johannes Pitz joining the lineup, the band expanded its ranks before recording its debut album with Sven Groß on vocals.

“Feed the Vault” will be available on CD, vinyl, and digital formats on January 15, 2027. The album features nine tracks, with opener ‘Back to Decay’ serving as the first single to offer a glimpse into this new chapter for CARNAL GHOUL.
