Chilean thrash metal outfit CRITICAL DEFIANCE have unveiled the title track from their upcoming fourth studio album "Rivers of Blood". Set for release on September 25th via Dying Victims Productions, the newly released track once again showcases the band’s aggressive and technically driven approach to thrash metal.

Formed in 2010 in Valparaíso, Chile, CRITICAL DEFIANCE quickly became one of the notable names emerging from the South American underground thrash metal scene. Built around high-speed aggression, razor-sharp guitar riffs, and intricate technical details, the band combines the uncompromising spirit of classic thrash metal with a modern perspective.

Having established their identity through previous releases "Misconception" (2019), "No Life Forms" (2022), and "The Search Won’t Fall" (2024), the band are now preparing to deliver a darker and more intense atmosphere with their new effort "Rivers of Blood".

Consisting of eight tracks and clocking in at approximately 32 minutes, the album is described as one of the band’s most focused works to date. Blending the ferocity of fast-paced thrash metal with more dramatic transitions, harsher atmospheres, and a strong sense of songwriting, the record features production by Sebastián Palominos.

The songs featured on the album stand out with their distinct identities. Opening track 'Red Omen' sets a dark tone from the beginning, while 'Innate To Kill' highlights the band’s trademark speed and aggression. 'The Feeling Destroyer' showcases their technical approach and compositional strengths, while the title track 'Rivers of Blood' creates a slower yet equally devastating thrash metal atmosphere.

The second half of the album is led by 'Valparaíso', a track that references the city where the band was born. The song combines the history, memory, and darker aspects of the city with the band’s harsh musical language. Following tracks 'Dead Tongues', 'Ceremony of the Final Call', and closing track 'Glorify War' complete the album’s aggressive and threatening atmosphere.

"Rivers of Blood" is not simply a record rooted in the traditions of classic thrash metal; it stands as an album where CRITICAL DEFIANCE further sharpens their own musical identity, delivering a fast, brutal, and dark vision of the genre.
