One of the most striking names in the US post-punk and extreme music circuit, DRY WEDDING returns with their new album The Back Of Beyond. While announcing the record—set for release on July 31 via Vesperian / Metal Blade Records—the band also made a powerful impact with the release of the new single “Moths” and its accompanying video.

Hailing from Portland, DRY WEDDING builds a layered sonic identity that moves between post-punk, gothic country, noise rock, black metal, and doom metal. Having reached their third album phase, the band now enters a new era where they construct a more controlled yet denser expressive language, inviting the listener into a space suspended between atmosphere and physical aggression. Following the more aggressive and expansive direction of “Arrowhead,” the band approaches “Moths” with a more introspective and patient sense of tension.

According to vocalist and guitarist Davey Ferchow, the new track emerged from a creative process in which dynamics were rigorously tested and patience took center stage. Both the musical and visual worlds of “Moths” explore themes of repressed emotions and an inner darkness that becomes irreversible once brought to the surface. The video combines performance footage with more abstract and unsettling visual layers, reinforcing the track’s sense of unease.

Directed by Olivia Bayer, the video fuses the band’s raw onstage energy with a more experimental aesthetic, strengthening the dualistic structure at the heart of the song. The fine line between control and chaos becomes a constant tension thread running through both the visual and sonic dimensions.

On the production side, the album features familiar names from the Portland scene. Recording and mixing were handled by Adam Pike at Toadhouse Recording, while mastering was completed by Adam Gonsalves. The visual identity is shaped by artwork from Adam Burke and design contributions from John Haughm.
