Minneapolis-based modern hoss rock outfit EXTERMINATION DAY have returned with their new single and video, “Ruse Cycle.” With this first unveiling from their upcoming album, the band not only opens the door to a new chapter but once again lays bare their harsh, politically charged edge.

Having recently signed with Argonauta Records, the band delivers a powerful early glimpse into the direction of the record they are currently shaping in the studio. “Ruse Cycle” pushes further into the band’s self-described “hoss rock” sound — a heavy fusion of doom-laden weight, punk aggression, and crossover-driven influences — refining it into an even more focused and sharpened form.

Featuring members known from acts such as Suffering Hour, Satan’s Satyrs, and Kult of the Wizard, EXTERMINATION DAY have rapidly carved out a distinct identity within the American underground. The new single reflects that stance not only through its music, but also through the uncompromising message it carries.

With “Ruse Cycle,” the band turns its attention to the systems of manipulation embedded in modern life, driven by media and power structures. The track tackles themes such as distraction tactics, social division, and the shaping of individual perception in a direct and unfiltered manner.

Musically, the song fuses crushing riffs, raw punk energy, and a doom-soaked atmosphere, once again highlighting EXTERMINATION DAY’s aggressive and unyielding character. The new single stands both as a statement of intent and a forceful introduction to the band’s upcoming album.
