Following their Australian tour with AMORPHIS, THE ETERNAL have released a new lyric video for ‘Obscured Horizons’, the title track from their latest album. Released on September 18, 2026, via Reigning Phoenix Music, the track highlights the band’s progressive side and atmospheric songwriting.

Unlike the band’s previous singles, ‘Obscured Horizons’ brings intricate guitar work, atmospheric transitions and melancholic melodies together. Exploring the tension between hope and despair, the track puts THE ETERNAL’s progressive songwriting approach front and centre while offering another glimpse into the album’s musical diversity.

The new video follows THE ETERNAL’s Australian tour with AMORPHIS in September. Performing in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra, the band brought its dark, atmospheric metal sound to audiences across the country.

The band’s eighth studio album, “Obscured Horizons”, explores themes of fractured identity, disillusionment and the struggle to regain clarity. Revolving around deception, memory and the search for self-awareness, the record combines THE ETERNAL’s doom-laden sound with progressive arrangements and cinematic atmospheres. Following 2024’s “Skinwalker” and the 2026 EP “Celestial”, the album marks another stage in the band’s ongoing musical evolution.

THE ETERNAL’s lineup spans two cities, with Mark Kelson (vocals, guitars) and Richie Poate (guitars) based in Melbourne, while Niclas Etelävuori (bass, ex-AMORPHIS/FLAT EARTH) and Jan Rechberger (drums, AMORPHIS) are based in Helsinki. Kelson and Rechberger handled production duties on the album.

THE ETERNAL’s next announced shows will take place in Finland in June 2027. The band will perform at the Kesä Mössö festival in Lahti alongside AMORPHIS and Danish rock veterans D-A-D.
