Combining doom and sludge influences with elements of black metal and hardcore, FANE have released 'Dead Shepherd', the second single from their upcoming album "Armageddon Scars". The album is set for release on August 28 via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records in CD and digital formats.

Completed during the autumn of 2025, the writing and recording process for "Armageddon Scars" was shaped around FANE's intention to capture a rawer and more direct expression of their sound. The album's arrangements, recording, mixing, and mastering were handled by Trey Porche at Last Watch Studio. Alongside Porche, longtime collaborator Ryan Ashmore also contributed performances to the record.

Rather than pursuing studio perfection, FANE chose to preserve the natural character of the performances throughout the production process. Instead of relying on extensive editing, the band allowed the songs to develop through their own dynamics, while the mastering was completed entirely in-house using analog equipment.

"Armageddon Scars" draws from doom, sludge, hardcore, and black metal, creating a dark and uncompromising musical landscape. Lyrically, the album explores themes of endurance, the scars left behind by destruction, and the aftermath of lived experiences. The band describes the record as a direct reflection of their personal and musical state during the period in which it was created.

Following the previously released track 'Passages', 'Dead Shepherd' serves as the second preview of "Armageddon Scars".
