Swedish progressive death metal outfit Februus have returned with their long-awaited new album, Construction of Conflict. Having turned heads with their debut release, the band once again steps beyond conventional death metal boundaries on their sophomore full-length, aiming to deliver an unconventional listening experience.

Februus’ latest effort stands out through its extensive use of technical and progressive elements. While the songs on the album are generally shorter than those on its predecessor, each track is packed with numerous tempo shifts, atmospheric transitions, and unexpected musical twists. This approach allows the band to present its intricate songwriting in a more compact format.

Throughout the album, crushing death metal riffs are reinforced by experimental textures, electronic layers, and passages that drift between contrasting moods. Although the songs constantly change direction, they manage to maintain a strong sense of cohesion. In this regard, Construction of Conflict emerges as a detail-rich work that invites repeated exploration for progressive death metal listeners.

All vocals, guitars, bass, electronic arrangements, and drum programming were handled by Andreas Karlsson. The album was also mixed by Karlsson, while the mastering was completed by Mattias Persson. The cover artwork, logo, and overall design were created by Daniel Karlsson.
