Finnish black/thrash metal outfit FLAME are set to release their long-awaited third studio album, "Ignis Draconis Daemonicus", on September 25 via Primitive Reaction in both CD and vinyl formats. Despite a career marked by stretches of silence lasting nearly six years, the band has continued to forge ahead, opening a new chapter in its discography with this latest full-length.

Formed in Kuopio in 1998 by members of BARATHRUM and URN, FLAME quickly made its presence felt in the underground through a series of demo recordings and split releases. With "Into the Age of Fire" and its successor "March Into Firelands", the band established a distinctive blend of traditional black/thrash and bestial metal, earning recognition for preserving the spirit of classic extreme metal without chasing modern trends.

Following the release of the "Ignis Spiritus" EP in 2020, "Ignis Draconis Daemonicus" is presented as both a musical and thematic continuation of its predecessor. While retaining the aggressive edge that defined the band's earlier work, the new album places a stronger emphasis on atmosphere. Lyrically, the material moves beyond blasphemy and satanic themes, focusing instead on occultism, esoteric traditions, and spiritual transformation—subjects that vocalist and guitarist Blackvenom has increasingly explored in recent years. Drawing inspiration from Thelema, the Draconian and Typhonian traditions, as well as Chaos Magick and Luciferian philosophy, this new direction marks a notable evolution in FLAME's lyrical identity.

The album also reflects a significant collaborative effort on the production side. Recording duties were handled by Chris Nunravager, while mixing was entrusted to Greg Chandler of the British doom metal band ESOTERIC. Chandler's work is said to have helped the band achieve a heavier, more dynamic sound while preserving FLAME's unmistakable underground character.

Consisting of 10 tracks, including an introductory piece, the album runs for approximately 47 minutes. The first single, 'Kaosphere', has already been made available to listeners.
