Polish death/thrash metal band GRÓB are bringing together the work they have pursued since 2019 on their first full-length album, “Ikonoklasta”. Set for release on CD through Putrid Cult on November 6, 2026, the album has now spawned its second single, ‘Szczury Wrocławia’, accompanied by an official music video.

Formed in Wrocław by Necromaniak (guitars, drums) and Death Dealer (vocals, lyrics) as a studio project, GRÓB initially set out to record old-school, raw and catchy metal and release it on cassette. The band draws its musical influences from the lesser-known corners of early extreme metal, old-school hardcore punk and Black Sabbath.

The darker chapters of Polish history have played a significant role in the duo's lyrical approach. In particular, the crimes committed by serial killers operating during the communist era have been among the subjects explored by the band since its early days. With “Ikonoklasta”, this historical focus is joined by more contemporary social concerns. Tracks such as ‘Okultyzm dla mas’, ‘Szczury Wrocławia’ and ‘Będziesz zabijał’ address the almost religious devotion to drugs found in certain subcultures and the horror of being caught in the middle of a military conflict.

Musically, GRÓB shape their blend of thrash, death and doom metal with elements of punk, rock ’n’ roll and an aggressive vocal delivery. On their debut, this approach brings together a range of musical influences while maintaining a cohesive overall sound.

GRÓB's discography to date includes the EPs “Mięsożerca” (2021) and “Misophonia” (2022), two demos, the 2025 split release “Groźby karalne / Żelazna Kurtyna” and a self-released live cassette. “Ikonoklasta” will mark the duo's first full-length album following these releases.

The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jarosław Wysocki at Soundscope Studio, whose previous work includes releases by Lost Soul and Squash Bowels. The cover artwork and album layout were created by Artur von Ritter, known for his work with In Twilight’s Embrace, Towards Hellfire and Owls Woods Graves.

“Ikonoklasta” will be released on CD through Putrid Cult on November 6, 2026. Pre-orders are now available.
