The lyrics and vocals for ‘David vs. Goliath’ were written and performed by Claudio Colaianni, regarded as one of the pioneering figures of Italy’s Stoner Rock scene and known for his work with ANUSEYE, THAT’S ALL FOLKS! and COLT.38. Having passed away around a year and a half ago, Colaianni’s contribution gives the song an added personal significance.

HERBA MATE describe the song as a journey from a place of safety towards freedom, where feelings of being lost and disoriented intertwine with hope. The natural rhythm of time and the cyclical nature of life are also central to its narrative. According to the band, the music video brings the track’s musical approach to the screen, drawing on Rock, Psychedelia and cinematic atmospheres.

“Bolide I & II” is set for release on November 20 via Go Down Records. The nine-track album features ‘David vs. Goliath’ alongside the previously released ‘Poppy’.
