HORRESQUE Tackles the Bataclan Massacre on “They Came to Kill”
Bataclan’s Dark Echoes
German blackened death metal band HORRESQUE released their new single and music video, ‘They Came to Kill’, on September 3. The track, taken from the band’s upcoming third full-length album, “Chasms Pt. III - The Dread, Unveiled”, deals with the 2015 Bataclan attack in Paris.
‘They Came to Kill’ is the second track unveiled from the final installment of HORRESQUE’s “Chasms” trilogy, which is scheduled for release in early 2027. Continuing to explore the darker aspects of the human psyche through their blend of Black Metal and Death Metal, the band turns its focus directly toward a real-world terrorist attack on the new single.
Following the single released by the band in early September 2026, the track serves as the opening piece of the trilogy’s final chapter. HORRESQUE are also preparing to release another single from the album later this year.
The recording, mixing, and mastering of “Chasms Pt. III - The Dread, Unveiled” were handled by Victor Bullock at Woodshed Studio in Landshut, Germany. Known for his work with TRIPTYKON and DARK FORTRESS, Bullock was involved throughout the album’s entire production process.
HORRESQUE’s third album is scheduled for release in early 2027. The band has also stated that they are available for interview requests regarding the new single and album.
