One of the standout names in the instrumental post-rock scene, IF THESE TREES COULD TALK have shared a new glimpse of their upcoming studio album, The Hidden Hand. The band's latest single, “Sea Of Glass,” has been released alongside an accompanying music video.

Formed in Akron, Ohio, the outfit continues to showcase its distinctive sonic identity on the new track, blending atmospheric guitar layers with powerful dynamic shifts. Beginning with clean guitar melodies, the composition gradually expands through its evolving structure and emotional ascent, reflecting the band's characteristic approach to post-rock.

According to drummer Zack Kelly, “Sea Of Glass” is built around a melodic framework that emphasizes a sense of optimism, while its powerful chorus sections and striking finale are designed to leave a lasting impression on the listener. The track also offers significant clues regarding the overall atmosphere of the new album the band has been crafting for an extended period.

Set for release on July 10 via Metal Blade Records, The Hidden Hand consists of nine tracks in total. On the new record, the band aims to fully utilize the expansive sonic spectrum provided by its three-guitar lineup, creating a soundscape that is both richly layered and cinematic. While loop pedals, delay effects, and rhythmic variations reportedly play a key role throughout the songwriting process, the resulting music is intended to guide listeners through a wordless yet deeply immersive inner journey.

Over the years, IF THESE TREES COULD TALK have established a solid reputation within post-rock circles, particularly through their emotionally charged instrumental compositions. Their new album, The Hidden Hand, appears poised to push that artistic vision even further.
