Denver sludge/doom metal trio IN THE COMPANY OF SERPENTS has announced a short US tour surrounding its appearance at this July’s Asheville Doomed & Stoned Fest. The run will begin on July 15 in Kansas City and conclude on July 23 in Oklahoma City.

Despite a career spanning nearly fifteen years, the band has only played a limited number of shows across the southern United States. This time, however, the route will also take in cities such as Nashville, Birmingham, New Orleans, Houston, and Austin. At the heart of the trek lies Asheville Doomed & Stoned Fest, one of the more notable gatherings on the doom and stoner circuit. The festival lineup also features acts including Howling Giant, Duel, -(16)-, and Order Of The Owl.

IN THE COMPANY OF SERPENTS is expected to focus heavily on material from its latest album, A Crack In Everything, which was independently released last year. The band's fifth full-length departs from the occult and mystical themes that characterized much of its earlier work, embracing a more personal approach. While the album delves into subjects such as addiction, depression, and personal struggle, it also seeks to balance its dark atmosphere with themes of hope and transformation.

Formed in 2011 by guitarist/vocalist Grant Netzorg and drummer/author JJ Anselmi, the band has managed to retain its sludge and doom metal foundations while gradually expanding its sound through a broader spectrum of heavy music influences. Particularly on its more recent releases, the group has combined traditional doom sensibilities with deeply personal narratives and intense emotional depth, maintaining a strong position within the underground scene.

Beyond bringing the new album to a wider audience, the July run will also give the band the opportunity to connect for the first time with listeners in several regions it has never previously visited.
