MOONSPELL are preparing to celebrate their 35th anniversary with a new festival curated by the band themselves. The inaugural edition of MOONFEST will take place on October 30, 2027, at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. The announced line-up also features AMORPHIS, ZEAL & ARDOR, TOWARDS THE SINISTER and HEAVENWOOD.

One of MOONFEST's defining features is its combination of bands representing different eras and approaches to metal. Finland's AMORPHIS will join the bill alongside Switzerland's ZEAL & ARDOR, whose distinctive sound blends blues and gospel elements with Scandinavian Black Metal. The UK contingent will be represented by TOWARDS THE SINISTER, featuring the original founding members of MY DYING BRIDE.

Portuguese veterans HEAVENWOOD will open the festival. The band released new music in 2026, the year marking their 30th anniversary. MOONSPELL will close the night with a set spanning more than three decades of their career. The band has also announced that the performance will feature the biggest production of their career to date.

The MOONFEST announcement follows several other developments in MOONSPELL's 2027 schedule. The band will embark on a 40-date European tour, "God Is A Vampire", in March and April 2027. They recently presented their latest album, "Far From God", at a completely sold-out show at Hard Club in Porto, following a similarly well-attended performance in Sintra in September.
