MOSH THE ROCK Island Metalfest, which brings together the independent metal scene in British Columbia, Canada, will return for its third edition on August 8, 2027. The festival will take place at Fred Milne Park in Sooke, Vancouver Island, with band submissions now open until November 30.

Having grown beyond Vancouver Island's underground metal scene over its first two years, the festival aims to once again bring independent bands from across the metal spectrum together on a single stage in 2027. Last year's lineup featured Juno Award-winning ANCIENTS, Vancouver-based ARROW IN THE QUIVER, Chicago's THE RISING FALL, and several acts from British Columbia's underground metal scene.

Covering a range of styles including death metal, thrash metal, progressive metal, stoner and doom, MOSH THE ROCK 2027 will feature a total of 12 bands on one stage. The open-air event will also include food trucks, merchandise vendors, and a licensed beer garden. Open to all ages, the festival is designed to offer an experience that families can enjoy as well.

Submissions are now officially open to independent and underground metal bands interested in joining the 2027 lineup. Acts from Vancouver Island, across British Columbia, elsewhere in Canada, and internationally are welcome to apply. The deadline is November 30, 2026.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the festival's official artist submission page.
